COVID-19 INFORMATION

Coronavirus COVID-19

The health, safety and welfare of each member of our team as well as their family members is a high priority for us. We, therefore, are closely monitoring the outbreak of coronavirus disease (“COVID-19”). It is an evolving and dynamic situation, so our response to it may change. The risks of the virus causing COVID-19 should be taken very seriously. Nosh will monitor developments vigilantly and because the situation is fluid, we will update you when information changes as we are able to do so. Nosh’s response to the outbreak of COVID-19 (the “Response”) dated 06/19/2020 is set forth below. The Company reserves the right to revise, supplement, rescind, or deviate from any policies or portion of the Response from time to time as it deems appropriate, in its sole and absolute discretion, and with or without advance written notice.

Know the Symptoms of COVID-19
For confirmed COVID-19 infections, reported illnesses have ranged from infected people with little-to-no symptoms to people becoming severely ill and dying. Current information suggests that older adults and persons with underlying health conditions or compromised immune systems might be at greater risk for severe illness from this virus, and they should take more precautions to avoid exposure.

Besides knowing how it can be transmitted, recognizing the symptoms is an important step. Symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus. This can allow the virus to be spread without an individual showing symptoms. People with underlying health conditions appear to be at higher risk for severe disease.

COVID-19 symptoms include:

1. Fever; 100.4 or higher
2. Cough; and
3. Shortness of breath.

How to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
There is currently no vaccine to prevent the COVID-19 infection. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses include:
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially
  • Clean your hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95 percent alcohol, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially if hands are visibly dirty
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with Especially unwashed hands
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, Cough and sneeze into your arm/elbow, “the Vampire Sneeze”
  • Put your used tissue in a waste basket, wash hands
  • If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hand
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Routinely clean all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace, such as workstations, countertops, and doorknobs with the cleaning agents that are usually used in these areas, following the directions on the label of the cleaning agent
  • Stay home when you are sick ( see “know the symptoms of COVID-19”)
  • Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others

All employees must practice social distancing whenever possible, maintain 6’ physical distance from other employees and guests.

All employees must practice safe hand sanitation practice:

Make sure you have clean hands when preparing food:
Wash your hands often when you onsite at a catering event. Your hands can spread germs, so wash your hands often to prevent cross-contamination. Hand washing is especially important – Utilize sanitizers if soap and water are not readily available. Here are some key times to wash in the kitchen:
  • Before, during, and after preparing any food.
  • After handling raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs.
  • Before eating & after eating.
  • After touching garbage.
  • After wiping counters or cleaning other surfaces with chemicals.
  • (In a client’s home) - After touching pets, pet food, or pet treats.
  • After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
  • Touching cell phones or other socially used devices, headphones, lighters, etc.
Follow Five Steps to Wash Your Hands the Right Way
Hand washing is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs, but it’s important to follow these five steps every time.

1. Wet your hands with clean, warm running water, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. (Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.)
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

Wash Hands Before and After Using Gloves
Washing hands is important even if you’re wearing gloves. Be sure to wash your hands before and after using gloves to prevent the spread of germs. You can contaminate gloves with germs from your hands when you put on gloves. Contaminated gloves can spread germs to your hands when you remove the gloves.

Properly Use Disposable Gloves
Team Members should use food-safe gloves when handling ingredients or packaging ready-to-eat meals to minimize the spread of bacteria. Gloves provide a barrier between dangerous pathogens and the food you are preparing. However, disposable gloves can easily get contaminated which makes it vital to understand how often you should replace your gloves.

When to Change Your Gloves
When it comes to changing your gloves, chefs, servers, team members can never be too careful. The more often you change them, the better. To ensure you’re properly using gloves, it’s important to understand when to replace them:
  • When they are dirty
  • When they tear or break
  • Before beginning a new task
  • Before handling ready-to-eat food
  • After using electronics
  • After handling raw meat, seafood, or poultry
  • After 2 hours of continuous use
  • Before putting on a new pair of gloves, make sure to wash your hands. Gloves can easily become contaminated by making contact with unwashed hands.
